To sum up, I had a debt that was in collections through a company called lets say X. X transferred the account to Y and then Y to Z. The original creditor is W. I never heard again from Y or Z and W (the original creditor went out of business). I disputed the information from X on my credit report as it states (transferred to another office). Was this a bad idea? Will they reach out to whoever they sold the debt to ? Also, the original creditor went out of business. Any ideas?

Hey guys I wanted to get some opinions on how I should handle my road to rebuilding my credit and building my personal wealth. This is my current situation, I make about 40k-45k a year roughly. Ok, so I have a recent dispute on my credit score where I am being charged for something that I did not purchase. I have an emergency that needs taken care of as soon as possible. I was denied a personal loan for $5k with my bank, due to my income and debt to credit ratio. I gross about $1100/mo on my own income, so I understand why I was denied, as I was unable to find a cosigner who made much more than me. I can’t use my husband because he has a small medical bill in collections. Although I am paying it off soon, obviously it does us no good right now. My credit is fair, as I don’t have any accounts in default/late payments/etc. I considered trying to go through a local credit union for a lesser amount – possibly $4k. I know that this specific credit union will do signature loans up to 30% of your income. Do I stand any chance of getting a loan of that size based on my own income? My husband grosses about $1500/mo, and I’ve already sat down and figured up payments. We can afford it, and pay it off well before it need to be, but they obviously can’t consider his income. I have already considered (and in some cases already have) asking family for help, but most of those close to us are in a pinch themselves, and it just isn’t going to happen. This is more or less my last resort. I wouldn’t even consider this if I didn’t feel that we could pay it back in a reasonable amount of time, and I don’t want to worsen my credit either. Does ANYONE out there know where someone like me could get a personal / auto loan? Or where there is to apply? I am looking for a personal loan for 25k to buy a truck. The problem is, it is a 2000 model with 79k on the odometer. Although it is a diesel, the banks dont want to finance one with that kinda mileage unless you have remarkable credit. Car Loan Question: Paying off loan early by paying payment first day it’s due NOT on due date (less interest)?
I am trying to pay the loan off early and I’ve done so in the past with other loans like this. It is simple interest and TRUST ME, I have contacted the credit union several times & they look at me like I’m retarded. LAST LOAN: I paid my payment on the first day I could (usually the 2nd of the month). I only paid 1 day worth of interest & a majority of the payment went towards the principal. I did this every month and knocked it off 11 months early! My cycle started on the 2nd of the month (since my payment was due on the 1st). It then calculates it every day for that month & you pay the total interest based off of when you pay your payment (ie: on 25th=24 days of interest). On the 2nd it would re CURRENT LOAN: If I made a payment on the 11-16. (due 12-15) then I would of only paid 1 day of interest. My problem is that they charge me almost 60 days of interest if I pay my next payment on the actual due date (1-15). Is this right? Why is this different than my previous loan?"

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to approach this accordingly, I tried to get an account with a credit union but unfortunately because of the BK or a Chexsystems report I’ve been denied. I’m looking for suggestions not criticism of the unknown circumstances that forced us into bankruptcy, Honest legal opinions are appreciated.

My hubby and I have accumulated a lot of credit card debt and we are pretty much not able to make ends meet. W pay $1,500 in credit card debt per month and that is only by paying the minimum. Right now my husband is in his medical residency and in 2.5 years his income will be much higher. Paying off a loan earlier or not?
I have an auto loan and a student loan. The student loan only has a 2% interest rate.(which I am not worried about) while the auto loan has an 8.99% 5 year loan interest rate….My husband was told to better our credit would be to make the minimum payments on the auto loan. However all my life I have been told to pay it off as fast as possible. I guess my question would be do I put as much extra money towards the loan as possible and pay it off in say 18 months or so? or to make the minimum payments and pay it off in the 5 years? If I pay it off in the five years I will be paying almost 10 grand more in interest. So which is really better for my credit to make the minimum payments or to pay it off fast?
